Rider Commitments

Aequitas Mobility Services (AMS) strives to provide safe, affordable, and efficient public transportation for everyone in the Greater Battle Creek community. To be able to do that we ask that all riders commit to being respectful of themselves and other riders.

To ensure a safe and comfortable trip, we ask that all riders commit to following the rules and guidelines below:

  • Be prepared to board the AMS vehicle at your designated pickup location. Because other riders will also be traveling the route, we must limit the amount of time drivers can wait for each rider to board to make sure everyone arrives on time.
  • Please remain seated and do not change seats while the vehicle is moving. When the vehicle has come to a complete stop, you may change seats or exit the vehicle.
  • When exiting the vehicle, please pull the door firmly closed and step away from the vehicle. For your safety, we ask that you do not walk in front of the vehicle after exiting.
  • If you are traveling with an infant, please make sure the infant is in a car seat. AMS has a limited number of toddler seats available on a first come first serve basis.
  • Smoking, eating, drinking, or using audio devices without ear phones is not permitted. All beverage and food containers brought onto the vehicle must be closed.
  • Disruptive behavior is not allowed. Possession or use of firearms or other weapons is not permitted on the vehicle. Causing a disturbance, harassing or compromising the safety of the driver or other riders may result in termination of service.
  • All packages or belongings must be carried on within one trip. Any packages or belongings brought on the vehicle with you must be able to be contained by your feet or in your lap at all times. Packages or belongings may not placed on an empty seat, or block the aisle.
  • Aisles must be kept clear at all times.
  • AMS is not responsible for lost or stolen goods. Please check the area around your seat before exiting the vehicle.

If you have a question about your trip, please ask the driver when the vehicle has come to a complete stop. If you have other questions about AMS services, please call (269) 441-5387.
